I think sometimes our skin does not need more makeup. It needs a reset.
There are seasons when our skin just looks tired.
Maybe it is too much sun.
Maybe it is hormones.
Maybe it is old acne that left behind marks we thought would eventually disappear.
Maybe it is stress, lack of sleep, or simply the fact that skin changes as we get older.
We add another serum. Buy a new moisturizer. Try a brighter concealer.
And sometimes those things help.
But sometimes the issue is not what we are putting on top of the skin.
Sometimes we need to help the skin let go of what is sitting on the surface.
That is one of the reasons I wanted to bring VI Peel treatments to Halo.
So What Exactly Is a Chemical Peel?
The word peel can sound much more dramatic than the treatment actually is.
A chemical peel uses a carefully selected solution to encourage exfoliation of the outer layers of skin. As that process happens, fresher skin is revealed underneath.
Chemical peels may be used to address concerns including uneven pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, acne scars, and overall skin texture.
To me, the goal is not to peel your face off. The goal is healthier looking skin underneath.
And one thing I really want people to understand is that more peeling does not automatically mean a better result.
Some people peel noticeably.
Some people peel very little.
The amount of visible peeling does not necessarily reflect how much improvement is happening in the skin. That is something we also emphasize in our Halo chemical peel education and consent process.

Our opening professional order includes both formulations.
That gives us the ability to have a real conversation about what someone is actually trying to improve instead of assuming one peel should be used for everyone.
Because skin is never one size fits all.
VI Peel Precision + Peptides
Precision + Peptides is one of the newer additions to the VI Peel professional line. VI Peel recommends that some patients undergoing this treatment may benefit from a series of three treatments spaced at least four weeks apart, depending on the treatment plan.
What I like about having this option at Halo is that it gives us another way to approach people who are looking for skin rejuvenation while still keeping the treatment plan individualized.
Not everyone wants dramatic change.
Most people I meet simply want their skin to look healthier.
Brighter.
Smoother.
More even.
More alive.
VI Peel Advanced
VI Peel Advanced is another formulation we are adding at Halo.
VI Peel educational content has discussed Advanced in connection with concerns such as acne scarring and pitting, particularly in drier skin types.
Again, that does not mean everyone with acne scars automatically needs this peel.
The right treatment depends on the person.
Their skin.
Their medical history.
Their current skincare.
Their goals.
And what their skin can safely tolerate.
Good aesthetics should always start with the person before it starts with the product.
What Can a VI Peel Help With?
Depending on the formulation selected and the individual being treated, a professional chemical peel may be considered for concerns such as:
Uneven skin tone
Sun damage
Pigmentation
Fine lines
Acne scars
Rough texture
Dull looking skin
VI Peel also states that its professional peel treatments are designed for concerns involving pigmentation, acne, acne scarring, and fine lines.
But I never want someone coming to Halo expecting one treatment to create completely different skin overnight.
That is not realistic.
Skin health is a process.
Sometimes one treatment creates a beautiful refresh.
Sometimes a series makes more sense.
Sometimes microneedling is the better option.
Sometimes skincare needs to change first.
And sometimes the best thing we can do is leave the skin alone for a little while.
That is why the consultation matters.
What About Peeling and Downtime?
This is usually the first question everyone asks.
Yes, you may peel.
But every person is different.
Some people experience more visible exfoliation than others, and the amount of peeling does not determine whether the treatment worked.
Your skin may also be more sensitive afterward, which makes following aftercare instructions and protecting the skin from the sun especially important.
And honestly, this is one treatment where I want people to plan ahead.
Maybe do not schedule your peel two days before family pictures, a wedding, or an event where you need flawless makeup.
Give your skin the time to do what it needs to do.
The Halo Approach to Chemical Peels
I do not want anyone walking into Halo and feeling like they need to fix everything about their face.
That has never been what this is about for me.
Maybe you have a few dark spots that bother you.
Maybe old acne left reminders behind.
Maybe Florida sun has caught up with you.

That does not mean anything is wrong with you.
