For thinning hair, fine lines, and skin that needs a little help feeling like itself again.
Some of the most interesting changes happening in aesthetics right now are not about adding more.
They are about asking the body to do a little more with what it already has.
That is what first drew us to PRP, or platelet rich plasma.
At Halo, we have always been drawn to treatments that feel thoughtful. Treatments that enhance rather than overwhelm. Treatments where the end result still looks unmistakably like you.
PRP fits into that beautifully.
It begins with something completely your own: a small amount of your blood. From that, we isolate and concentrate the platelet rich plasma, which contains growth factors involved in your body’s natural repair processes.
That concentrated plasma can then be used to support two concerns we hear about all the time:
My hair does not feel as full as it used to.
And…
My skin just does not look like me lately.
Two very different concerns.
One surprisingly beautiful treatment philosophy.
First, What Exactly Is PRP?
Let’s take away some of the mystery.
Your blood contains plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
Most of us learned about platelets because they help the blood clot. But platelets also contain growth factors and signaling proteins involved in healing and tissue repair.
For PRP, a small amount of blood is drawn and placed into a centrifuge. As it spins, the different components separate, allowing the platelet rich portion to be collected.
And that becomes your treatment.
Your blood.
Your plasma.
Your platelets.
Just concentrated and placed where we want them to work.
There is something very Halo about that.
When Your Hair Does Not Feel Like Your Hair Anymore
Hair thinning can happen so gradually that you almost convince yourself you are imagining it.
Then one day your ponytail feels smaller.
Your part looks wider.
Your hairline seems a little different.
There is more hair wrapped around your brush or sitting at the bottom of the shower.
And suddenly you cannot unsee it.
Hair is deeply personal. It frames our face, becomes part of our style, and often feels tied to our identity in a way we do not fully appreciate until it starts changing.
That is one of the reasons hair restoration has become such an important area of regenerative aesthetics.
PRP is being used for certain forms of hair loss by placing platelet rich plasma directly into areas of thinning scalp. Current clinical evidence supports PRP as a potentially useful treatment for improving hair density and reducing hair loss in appropriate patients, although results and treatment protocols vary.
The important words there are appropriate patients.
Hair loss has many causes.
Hormonal changes.
Genetics.
Stress.
Illness.
Nutritional deficiencies.
Medications.
Postpartum changes.
And other medical conditions.
So PRP should never be treated as a one size fits all answer to every kind of shedding.
Sometimes the first step in aesthetic care is knowing when something deserves a deeper medical evaluation.
What Happens During PRP Hair Treatment?
It starts with a blood draw.
Your blood is then placed into a centrifuge, where we separate the platelet rich plasma from the other components.
Once your PRP is prepared, small amounts are placed strategically into areas of the scalp experiencing thinning.
The treatment is targeted.
Thoughtful.
And surprisingly straightforward.
You may experience some tenderness or sensitivity afterward, but PRP hair treatment generally does not require significant downtime.
And then comes the part none of us are particularly good at.
Waiting.
Because hair grows on its own schedule.
PRP Is a Trust the Process Kind of Treatment
This is not a treatment where you wake up the next morning and suddenly have twice as much hair.
And we would never want to sell it that way.
The changes tend to be gradual.
For some people, the first thing they notice is actually something that stops happening.
Less shedding.
Less hair collecting in the shower.
Less hair coming out when they brush.
Then, over time, some patients begin seeing improved density, thickening, or regrowth. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that improvement may begin within several months and that maintenance treatments are typically needed to sustain results.
This is exactly why we love progress photographs.
When you see yourself every morning, tiny changes disappear into everyday life.
But place your first photo next to one taken several months later?
Sometimes that tells a completely different story.
How Many PRP Hair Treatments Do You Need?
Think series, not one and done.
One commonly used approach begins with approximately one treatment each month for three months, followed by maintenance treatments approximately every three to six months depending on the patient’s response and treatment plan.
But we do not love rigid formulas at Halo.
Your treatment plan should take into account what is causing your hair loss, how advanced the thinning is, how you respond to treatment, and what you are realistically hoping to achieve.
Because your plan should look like your plan.
Not everyone else’s.
Now Let’s Talk About Skin
There is a moment many of us experience when we realize aging is not necessarily showing up as one big wrinkle.
It is quieter than that.
Our skin feels thinner.
The texture changes.
Makeup does not sit quite the same way.
Fine lines linger a little longer after we smile.
The glow that once seemed automatic suddenly takes a little more work.
Sometimes we look tired even when we are not.
And sometimes the answer is not adding volume.
Sometimes you are perfectly happy with your face.
You just want your skin to look healthier.
That distinction is important.
PRP for Fine Lines, Texture & Skin Renewal
PRP can also be used as part of facial rejuvenation.
The idea is not to dramatically change the shape of your face.
It is to focus on the quality of the skin itself.
Research into facial PRP continues to evolve. Systematic reviews have found promising results for aspects of facial rejuvenation, although the evidence remains less standardized than it is for many established aesthetic treatments. Techniques, preparation methods, and treatment schedules differ between studies, which is why we believe expectations should always remain realistic.
Translation?
PRP is exciting.
But we are never going to tell you it is magic.
What we can talk about is supporting the appearance of healthier, smoother, refreshed skin.
Fine lines.
Texture.
Elasticity.
Overall skin quality.
The kind of changes that do not necessarily announce themselves across the room.
They just make you look good.
PRP Is Not Filler
And this is where people sometimes get confused.
PRP and filler are not interchangeable.
Filler is used when we want to strategically restore or enhance volume and contour.
PRP is much more about supporting the skin itself.
If filler is about structure, PRP is about renewal.
Sometimes you need one.
Sometimes the other.
Sometimes a thoughtfully designed aesthetic plan may include both.
But the goal should never be to throw every treatment at a face simply because we can.
At Halo, more is not automatically better.
Intentional is better.
PRP + Microneedling
This may be one of our favorite combinations.
Microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin as part of the skin rejuvenation process. PRP can also be incorporated into facial treatment plans using microneedling techniques.
It is another way of taking two treatments centered around renewal and bringing them together thoughtfully.
Not because we are chasing perfection.
Because we are supporting better skin.
And there is a difference.
How Many Facial PRP Treatments Will I Need?
There is not one universally established facial PRP protocol, and treatment plans vary depending on technique, skin condition, and individual goals. Current reviews continue to note variation among PRP preparation and treatment methods.
In aesthetic practice, PRP is often approached as a series rather than something you do once and forget about.
We prefer to look at your skin first.
Talk about what bothers you.
Talk about what doesn’t bother you.
And then decide what actually makes sense.
Because sometimes the most valuable part of an aesthetic consultation is hearing:
You do not need that.
The Results We Love Most Are the Ones That Whisper
There is a certain kind of aesthetic result that we will choose every time.
It is not dramatic.
It does not make everyone wonder what happened to your face.
It does not erase every line or make you look like a completely different person.
Instead, someone says:
“You look really good.”
Maybe your skin looks brighter.
Maybe your hair looks fuller.
Maybe you look rested.
Maybe you stop thinking about the thing that was bothering you every single time you look in the mirror.
Those are the results we love.
The ones that whisper instead of shout.
This Is What Regenerative Beauty Means to Us
Aesthetic medicine is evolving.
There will always be a place for Botox.
There will always be a place for filler.
We love both when they are used beautifully and thoughtfully.
But there is another side of aesthetics that has become especially exciting to us at Halo.
Regenerative aesthetics.
Treatments that focus on supporting the quality of your skin.
Supporting your hair.
Supporting collagen.
Working with your biology rather than always trying to replace what has changed.
PRP fits beautifully into that conversation.
Because aging is not something we believe needs to be fought at every turn.
You are allowed to have expressions.
You are allowed to look like you have lived.
You are allowed to age.
And you are also allowed to want healthier skin.
Fuller looking hair.
A softer line.
A little glow.
A little confidence back.
Those things can exist together.
Beauty Care That Meets You Where You Are
Halo was created around one simple idea:
Beautiful aesthetic care should fit into your life, not require your life to revolve around it.
We know what busy really looks like.
Work.
Children.
School drop offs.
Dinner.
Appointments.
A calendar that somehow becomes full before the week even begins.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, taking care of yourself tends to fall to the bottom.
That is why Halo Aesthetic Studio offers concierge aesthetic care, bringing eligible treatments directly to our clients throughout Englewood, Venice, Sarasota, Osprey, Lakewood Ranch, and surrounding areas.
Your home.
Your schedule.
Your comfort.
Your privacy.
Because to us, luxury is not about making something complicated.
It is about making something feel effortless.
It is thoughtful care.
Personal attention.
Natural looking results.
And treatments chosen because they make sense for you.
PRP is not about becoming someone younger.
It is not about becoming someone different.
It is simply another way to support what was already there.
Your skin.
Your hair.
Your confidence.
You. Renewed.
Until Next Time,
